In 2016, Quanray Began to work with industrial high-reliability RFID tag partners to develop high-reliability RFID tags for oil drilling platform asset management and tracking. Because the drilling platform in this project is located in the Arctic Circle, the extremely low outdoor temperature (up to -40℃) and the extremely high temperature of the pump valve in the drilling platform (up to 300℃), the performance and reliability requirements of the label and chip are extremely strict. After repeated testing and program adjustment, Quanray Electronics provides application programs of chip-level high-reliability special packages. After six months of testing and trial, labels passed all the environment and reliability tests, and the project has also entered the stable supply stage.
The application of RFID technology can ensure that the pipeline-interface is correctly placed on the crude oil supply chain pipeline. Although bar codes are already in use on offshore oil platforms, RFID tags can withstand a variety of harsh conditions and remain usable after the bar codes have been cleaned or worn out. Therefore, RFID technology has proven to be a more reliable way. With handheld RFID readers and ultra-durable low-frequency RFID tags, offshore oil rig crews can find the right parts and monitor downhole components in real-time, including drill pipe, casing, tubing, and elevators.
Intelligent inspection is an RFID application project with the characteristics of the petroleum and petrochemical industry. RFID technology is used to realize the navigation of inspection routes and the collection, transmission, processing and storage of inspection information such as inspection locations, personnel and events. Inspectors can automatically record the inspection data and reproduce the activities within the inspection area in real-time without touching the inspection points. Greatly improve the safety of the petroleum and petrochemical industry.
