National standards for electronic motor vehicle identification have been issued

Automobile electronic identification is also called automobile electronic ID card, standard information source of automobile digitization, commonly known as "electronic license plate". Information such as license plate number is stored in radio frequency tags, which can automatically, non-contact and non-stop vehicle identification and monitoring. It is an extension of passive radio frequency identification (RFID) based on the Internet of things in the field of intelligent transportation. The automobile electronic identification technology breaks through the bottleneck of the original traffic information collection technology, realizes the classified collection, precise collection, mass collection and dynamic collection of the vehicle traffic information, captures the key problem of the source of intelligent traffic application system collection, and is the foundation of building intelligent traffic application system. Automobile electronic identification shall be formulated and promoted by the Ministry of Public Security. A set of high-tech systems used for national identification of real vehicles shall be collectively referred to as the unified standards, implementation and management by the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. They shall coexist with automobile license plates and have legal effect equal to that of vehicle license plates.

Relevant ministries and commissions of the State attach great importance to the application of automobile electronic identification. In July 2013, The Standardization Administration and the Ministry of Public Security issued the task of compiling six national technical standards, including general Technical Conditions for Automobile Electronic Identification. In August 2013, Minister Miao Wei of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Executive Vice Minister Yang Huanning of the Ministry of Public Security jointly signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Coordinated Promotion of The Development of the Internet of Things in the Field of Public Security, clearly proposing to actively promote the research and demonstration application of the Internet of Things in the field of car-related applications.

There are altogether six national standards for automobile electronic signs released this time, and the series of standards will be implemented from January 1, 2018. Shanghai Kunrui Electronic Technology Co., LTD., as one of the units drafting the national standard of automobile electronic sign and supplying automobile electronic sign, will certainly lead the healthy development of automobile electronic sign industry.
